“Painting the Malls Red”

Posted on Updated on

Chinese New Year will kick off on February 10th, and as part of the retail tradition in this part of the world, shopping malls deck their best ushering fabulous luck and prosperity (ie bring in more visitors!)

I had the opportunity to check out a few well-known malls in town:

One Utama, Petaling Jaya:

A living vignette from Hong Kong…
Yes. That is a REAL lamp post placed in the make-believe alleys of Hong Kong…
A row of faux stall set-up next to the escalators

MidValley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur:

Welcome to the Village in the Valley Courtyard…

Can we get any Redder?
Tiny stage for “community events” πŸ™‚

The Gardens, Kuala Lumpur:

Flora, fauna and birds theme… “Ang” Power is prominent… πŸ™‚

Ok, I need to rest my eyeballs… seen too much Red today!

Guess all the shopping malls in Malaysia are doing their best to get the most customers to their mall. It is really interesting to guess or see what they will come up with. =) for each festival
