A Stroll @ Mari Market

Posted on Updated on

It has been a while since Apprentice and I enjoyed a day out doing what we love to do: browsing craft bazaars and wolfing decadent desserts 🙂  Last Sunday, we had a wonderful opportunity to do just that at Mari Market, hosted by Justlife Shop at Art Printing Works (a.k.a APW Bangsar)…

This awesome spot sits right next to one of the nation’s newspaper publishing powerhouse, The New Straits Times. The owner definitely has a vision to merge history with the current trend of Farmers/ Art Market Pop-Ups. Good move, dude.

Thanks to Waze, we arrived at the venue when things are at full swing. Took another 10 minutes to find a parking spot along the street. As we made our way to the main entrance, we couldn’t help but smile at the “VicMar” vibe we got from Mari Market…

Pulp Cafe sits just across from the main venue. This definitely caught Apprentice’s interest almost immediately as we entered Main Gate. A Must-Stop before we go home…

Turned right to the source of music and our excitement went North just a few notches more…

Photo Op Booth complete with ears 🙂

In case you didn’t know, this booth has a Death Star- tractor beam- strength for Tote lovers… strategically set up before entering Mari Market…

Sorry Ma’am, didn’t mean to capture you while you’re enjoying your meal… but your spot is very close to the cute sign post 🙂

It’s heartwarming to see this even at a Market 🙂

Then we adjourned to an annex area for a Live demo of Letterpress printing by The Alphabet Press. My word, this takes a LOT of Patience and perseverance. One of the requisite skills is to be able to read mirror-imaged words because everything is placed the opposite way of how the words turn up on the printed page.

Truly wonderful to see like-minded passionate people sharing knowledge to the public. THAT is why such craftsmanship is priceless…

Such heritage is to be respected and preserved.

After the demo, Apprentice is finally ready to move on the “main event” at Pulp Cafe…

Almost there…

The first thing that hits you as you step in is the heady scent of percolating java… HEA to the VEN!

After placing the standard order of mocha and cappuccino AND dessert, we went into “NatGeo” mode and took countless photos…

Under 10 minutes, our decadent surprise lands on our tiny table…

One market down… where’s the next one?
